THE APPOINTMENT OF TEN ASSISTANT MISTRESSES TO THE

EDUCATION DEPARTINT OF HONG KONG.

The Secretary of State for the Colonies requires Ten

assistant mistresses for the Education Department, Hong Kong.

Candidates should be between 23 and 30 years of

age and should be Trained and certificated Teachers able

to teach French, Drawing, and Singing. Four should be

familiar with Kindergarten work, A University Degree will

be an advantage,

3. The engagement will be in the first instance subject

to an Agreement for three years, and if at the end of the

time her service has been satisfactory the Assistent Mistress

will be placed, if mutually agreed, on the pensionable

establishment of the Colony,

4. The salary will be at the rate of 2300 rising by

annual increments of £20 to £400 a year. The selected

candidates will be allowed, subject to the permission of the

Director of Education, to undertake private tuition. Half

salary will be paid from the date of embarkation from

England and full salary from the date of arrival in the

Colony.

5. First class passage by a steamer other than a

mail steamer is provided, and also a return passage

at the end of three yanra if the engagement is not renewed

for other reasons than misconduct.
